Relix Magazine
I'm a little embarrassed that this is the first I've heard of Stoney Clove Lane. Having released its debut in 2003,
Stay With Me is the Woodstock, NY band's third full-length, and by god it's good. This is dirt-under-the-nails, vintage
soul rock and roll the way The Band, Neil Young and J.J. Cale intended it to be. Often fairly simple but played with
deep emotion, it's the incredibly well-written songs and honey-soaked harmonies that really steal the show.
Everything is in perfect proportion: just enough crunching Crazy Horse guitar balanced by delicate acoustic rhythm,
the right amount of banjo, piano, slide and vocal; nothing is ever forced or bloated. There's real care in the details
and it shows. As much as they recall herores from the '70s, they're more like the east coast version of The Mother Hips
than anything else. If you long for those sun-baked, dusty rock classics, songs you've never heard but known forever,
give this album a spin.
Roll Magazine Just because you didn't find Stay With Me on vinyl at some yard sale in
the middle of nowhere doesn't mean it's not a classic. It's so full of killer riffs and
old-school boogie, you'll be forgiven for imagining pops and scratches where there
are none to be found."

"Cracking record. Every second is well-used."
